The election for the Board of Education trustee seat left vacant by the resignation of Monique Bloom will be held today, Tuesday, Dec. 6.
Nine petitions for candidates wishing to run for the position were filed by the Nov. 7 deadline, however Mariana Ristea and Michael Darvish have withdrawn from the race. The remaining seven candidates, in the order that their petitions were returned, are Donald Panetta, Josh Ratner, Nikolas Kron, Nicholas Toumbekis, Lori Beth Schwartz, Donna Peirez and Grant Toch.
Qualified voters residing north of the Long Island Rail Road (LIRR) vote at Baker School and qualified voters residing south of the LIRR vote at South High School. Both sites will be open from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. For more information, call 516-441-4020 on school days between 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
