The sixth annual children’s music festival, KidStock, will entertain with star-studded performers on Sunday, Aug. 21, from 12 to 5 p.m. at North Hempstead Beach Park, 175 West Shore Rd. in Port Washington. KidStock is a free outdoor family music festival which features nationally acclaimed entertainers, including Grammy-award winning artists.
“We are excited to once again present KidStock, the music festival for the younger generation, at North Hempstead Beach Park,” Supervisor Judi Bosworth said. “Our goal this year is to bring back popular performers, while also introducing festival attendees to some new acts.”
The lineup consists of favorites Tim Kubart and the Space Cadets, Alex and the Kaleidoscope band as well as Aaron Nigel Smith. Kubart, a Grammy award-winning and Emmy-nominated entertainer and content creator for all ages, is the host of Sprout Channel’s Sunny Side Up morning show. Alex and the Kaleidoscope band is an interactive group for children 4 to 8 years that encourages and inspires learning through the power of song. Nigel Smith, from the cast of the PBS Kids show and collaborator on Ziggy Marley’s 2009 record for kids, will make his KidStock debut with reggae music that’s fun, inspired and lively.
Bach to Rock Port Washington will have hands-on and interactive opportunities for children to explore musical instruments. The festival acts will inspire and encourage children to celebrate and learn through the power of music and creativity. Other activities include a game truck, arts and crafts, carnival games, face painting and food to purchase.
KidStock is free but a $10 parking fee applies. Bring picnic blankets or beach chairs. For more information, call 311 or 516-869-6311.
