The Great Neck Community Ed program is looking forward to warmer days ahead with the release of their Spring 2021 Catalog. Registration is currently open and classes will begin in early April. With more than 80 courses available, there’s something for everyone.
Courses include a mix of in-person and online classes. In-person classes meet at 30 Cumberland Ave., Great Neck, one block south of Northern Blvd., off Lakeville Rd. Online classes are conducted via Zoom, a video conferencing program.
The Spring 2021 Catalog is available in a new digital format on the Community Ed website at www.greatneck.k12.ny.us/ce. Residents are encouraged to flip through the easy-to-use digital catalog to learn about course offerings and register with just a click of a button. Explore all that Community Ed has to offer this season, including:
Creative Arts & Crafts: A variety of art courses offer opportunities to create something beautiful in our Community Ed facilities or from the comfort of your own home. Explore painting, printmaking, pottery, sculpture, jewelry making, aromatherapy, and more.
Fitness and Movement: Get moving with activities like weight training, yoga, meditation, Pilates, Tai Chi, meditation, and several different styles of dance. Course offerings accommodate all fitness levels.
World Languages: Learn a new language or improve your conversational skills with beginner through advanced courses in Chinese, French, Italian, Hebrew, Spanish, and Yiddish.
History and Our World: New courses in archeology, art history, global history, and politics join a popular line-up of group discussions about current events, sports, and more.
Literature and Writing: Writers workshops, poetry classes, and book clubs are joined by a new course about researching family history online.
Games and Hobbies: Discover a new game or play with friends. Community Ed offers Bridge, Canasta, and Mah Jongg, for beginner and advanced levels.
Entertainment: Learn to play piano or guitar through one of our virtual courses, or join an online class about the history of classical music or television comedy.
Personal Development: Sharpen your accident prevention skills and get savings on car insurance by completing a Defensive Driving course.
