Silverstein Hebrew Academy (SHA) students learned to Build the World by Being Kind. Each month, different grades at SHA partnered with various charities that are committed to making the world a better place.

One month, fourth-grade SHA students partnered with Kfar Yeladim David (KYD), a home for disadvantaged children in Israel. The students raised money for the organization through a snack sale and Skyped with the orphanage in Israel, putting on a comedy show for the disadvantaged children staying at KYD.

The third graders at SHA partnered with Larger Than Life, an organization that helps sick children who are receiving treatments in the hospital. The students raised money through a bake sale and created colorful and cheerful paintings that they sent to the sick children in hopes of brightening their day.

The first-grade students partnered with the Atria senior home and visited the seniors for a joint monthly Zumba party. The seniors eagerly awaited the children’s visit each month.

Throughout the year, SHA students were involved in chessed (kindness) activities committed to building the world by being kind.
