Cindy Doerler, representing the Long Island Council on Alcoholism and Drug Dependence (LICADD), was the featured presenter at the Feb. 24 Rotary Club of Great Neck meeting.
She outlined the epidemic of alcohol and drug addiction currently plaguing Long Island. Every day, another young person succumbs and dies from substance abuse.
The mission of LICADD is to address the addictive climate of our times by providing initial attention and referral services to individuals, families and children through intervention, education and professional guidance to overcome the ravages of alcohol and other drug-related problems.
