Obituary: Judge Harry H. Burstein

Judge Harry H. Burstein, was a sitting Village Court Justice in the Village of Great Neck Estates, where he resided. He passed away from natural causes at the age of 73, on Oct. 27, 2022. He was also a founding partner of the New York Law Firm of Fischer and Burstein, P.C. He received his J.D. in 1974 from the University of Memphis (formerly Memphis State University), and also holds a B.A. from Richmond College, CUNY. Among the hallmarks of his career include being designated as one of the attorneys to advise family members of the TWA Flight 800 crash of wrongful death and related issues. He was also admitted as an attorney to Supreme Court of the United States.

Judge Burstein was also an avid proponent of supporting educational causes and volunteered as a Partner in Education for the New York City Board of Education’s High School Moot Court program. He also participated on numerous occasions as a speaker in Career Day programs for Public School 196 in Brooklyn, NY.

Judge Burstein is survived by his wide, Yanette, his children, Carl, Carly, Jennifer, and Luz, his siblings Cindy and Robert. He was pre-deceased by his late wife, Luz, and his late brother Jules.
