Marie Abbate, 96, of Farmingdale passed away on July 2. Beloved wife of the late Salvatore. Loving mother of Phyllis Ferraro. Cherished grandmother of Stephen Paul Ferraro (Rachel) and Christian Paul Ferraro (Suzanne). Adored great grandmother of Sophia. Predeceased by siblings Salvatore Rizzuto and Grace Grillo. A funeral Mass was held Monday, July 6, at St. Kilian RC Church. Interment followed at St. John’s Cemetery in Middle Village. Arrangements entrusted to Arthur F. White Funeral Home, Inc. 


Jacob Kersten of Glen Head in his 93rd year passed away on July 9. Beloved husband of the late Jean Kersten. Loving father to Richard, Fred, Barbara J. and Scott (Barbara A). Grandfather to Andrea, Rachel, Jessica and Timothy. Jacob proudly served his country in the United States Army starting in 1945 until he completed his service as a 2nd Lt. from the NYNG Reserves. Scout leader for BSA. Retired industrial engineer—Lucent Technologies. In Lieu of flowers send donations to DAV.ORG Memorial and interment will be private. His remains are being handled by the New York Atlantic Funeral Service.


Joan Ann Bunce of Glen Cove, died on July 3 at age 81. Wife of the late Thomas. Sister of Rosalie Sandillo-Lotito (the late Dan), the late Edward, Cosmo and Gladys. Joan is survived by many nieces and nephews. Arrangements by Dodge-Thomas. Mass at St. Boniface RC Church. Interment Locust Valley Cemetery. 

Tess Kamola of Glen Cove, died on July 1, at age 101. Beloved wife of the late Zdzislaw. Loving mother of Irena, Diane Walker (Doug) and Janet Mahoney (John). Dear sister of Eddie and Bertha. Proud grandmother of John, Brian, Danny and Noelle. Great-grandmother of Teigan, Nora and Emma. Tess loved the beach and enjoyed doing puzzles. Visiting at Dodge-Thomas Funeral Home of Glen Cove. Julia Melgar of Glen Cove, passed away on June 30 at age 97. Beloved mother of Julia (Ruben) and Rosa (Carlos). Dear sister of Edelira, Mercedes and Nelly. Proud grandmother of Oscar, Ana, Cathy, Ruben, Yovanah, Diana, the late Yolanda and Edgar. Special great-grandmother of Kimberly, Brian, Kacey, Stephanie, Jose, Natalie, Ariella, Rich, Alexa, Yesenia, Giovanni and Jayden. Great-great-grandmother of Jacob, Ava, Max, Alexis, Noah and Mia. Also survived by many loving nieces and nephews. Visitation at Dodge-Thomas Funeral Home of Glen Cove. Mass held at St. Patrick’s RC Church. Interment private. 


Joan Domaradzki of Locust Valley, died on July 10, at age 79. Wife of Michael. Mother of Lorraine, Janet and Michael. Grandmother of Justin, Mason, Ryan and Jax. Sister of John Conway. Also survived by several nieces and nephews. Visitation held at Dodge-Thomas Funeral Home. Mass St. Hyacinth Church. Interment Locust Valley Cemetery.


Deborah Ann Lang Reid of Oyster Bay died on July 11. Wife of Jose. Cherished mother of Katherine and Devin. Cherished daughter of the late Barbara. Dear sister of Paul, Liz Fiordelisi, Jen, Kevin, and the late Thomas. Aunt of Brandon, and Christian Fiordelisi, Tommy, Anthony, Sophia, Nicholas, and Olivia Lang. She be forever missed by her many friends. Family received friends at the Francis P. DeVine Funeral Home. A funeral Mass was held at Church of St. Dominic R.C.C. Interment at Locust Valley Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Family and Children’s Association.


Maria Antonietta Santodonato “Dnito” “Antoinette”, 65, resident of Port Washington joined her father Vincenzo in paradise on July 10 after a brief, but formidable battle with cancer. Antonietta was born in Ceccano, Italy on Oct. 17, 1954 with her twin brother Phillip to Maddalena and Vincenzo Santodonato. The Santodonato family also includes her sister Stefanie, her husband Danny and their beloved son Erik, and Phillip’s wife Adrianna, and their three beloved children Edson, Braxon, and Angelique. When Antonietta became ill so many people became our extended family, but we want to give special thanks to her dear friends Susan Michaels and Kim Gutmann for their steadfast support to all of us, we may have lost one sister, but we are so blessed that we gained two more. Antonietta was laid to rest at Nassau Knolls Cemetery and our family chose St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital if you would like to make a donation in her honor.


Adrian Sokoloff, 99, died at home in Sands Point after a short illness on March 29. Predeceased by his loving wife and best friend, Thelma, and survived by his adoring daughters and their husbands; Karen Sokoloff and Andy Messinger, Claire Sokoloff and Rob Gifford, and Gail Sokoloff and Howard Merkowitz; and his eight devoted grandchildren: Rachel (Brian), Ben (Sydney), David, Alison (David), Eric, Danny, Alex, and Lia, all of whom called him Boppa. He is also survived by his great granddaughter, Talia, and by his brother Harold. Adrian and Thelma moved to their home in Sands Point in 1955.


Angelo R. Vasiento III of Sea Cliff, died on July 4 at age 54. Husband of Brenda. Son of Nancy and the late Angelo Jr. Father of Charles (Ashlyn) and Felicia. Brother of Christine. Grandfather of Greyson. Uncle of Nicole and Matthew. Corporate bond broker for many years. Avid sports fan. Visiting and service at Dodge-Thomas Funeral Home of Glen Cove. Interment private.


Cheryl T. Moore of Syosset, died on July 1. Beloved wife of James A. Loving mother of Tanya A. Moore, and James A III. Cherished grandmother of Molly Victoria. Service was held at Francis P. DeVine Funeral Home Long time employee of Dr. Sean McGaley. Lifelong member of the DAR.  In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Mary Stolfa Cancer Foundation P.O. Box 644 Syosset, New York 1179.


Dolores M. Ellis, 96, of Westborough, passed away on July 15, at the Metrowest Medical Center in Framingham. She was the wife of the late Raymond W. Ellis. Born in Richmond Hill, she was the daughter of the late Frederick and Anna (Lang) Koelsch. Dolores was a former member of St. Aidan’s Church in Williston Park, and was a member of the Rosary Society. She has been a resident of Westborough for five years previously living in Albertson. She is survived by four children, Lawrence Ellis of Chelmsford, Colleen Perkins of Ithaca, Diane Paterline of Millsboro, DE, and Daniel Ellis of Holliston; eight grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her brother Donald Koelsch. Her funeral Mass was held at St. Luke the Evangelist Church. Services were held at Massachusetts National Cemetery, Bourne. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to a charity of one’s choice.


Jerry Colucciello 91, passed away peacefully on June 18. He brought many students safely to the Island Trees School District on his bus for 35 years. Beloved husband of Marion for 65 years. Loving father of Dianne Langon. Cherished grandfather of Alyson Burdge (Joe), Sara Langon and Billie Rose Langon. Dear brother of Annunzio (Patricia), Lena Bernardo (Steve), Albert (Linda), predeceased by Rose Scotto, Pasqualena, Caroline, Anna and Anthony. A funeral mass was held at St. Kilian’s RC Church. Elly Rose Gilday, 61, of Massapequa Park, passed away peacefully on June 26, surrounded by her loving family. Beloved wife of Paul. Loving mother of Christopher Moore, Steven Moore, John Gilday, Dan Horton, Nicole Alzona, and the late Kyle Gilday. Proud grandmother of Noah, Naveda and Mikey. A funeral service was held at St. Demetrios Greek Orthodox Church, Jamaica. Interment followed at Breslau Cemetery, Lindenhurst. Arrangements entrusted to Arthur F. White Funeral Home, Inc.


Johanna Gendron, 85, of Bethpage passed away on June 27. Beloved wife of 40 years to the late Elie. Loving mother of the late Tina Grassel (Paul), Vincent (Kathleen) and Joseph. Cherished grandmother of Liam Gendron (Kristina Ciaccio), Devin, Kyle, Lani, Noelle, Elijah and Rebecca Gendron. Dear sister to Ciro Prizzi (Carol Prizzi). Adored aunt to Cheryl Reifert (Gary), Charlie Prizzi (Nicole), Carl Prizzi (Jennifer) and Cynthia Howard (David). A funeral mass was held at St. Martin of Tours RC Church. Edna Mae Grudzinski, 94 of Bethpage passed away on June 20. Born in Hicksville, to Frederick and Wilhelmina Turner in 1926. Edna graduated from Hicksville High School. She was a proud member of the Grumman Retiree Club. Edna was also a dedicated parishioner at St. Martin of Tours RC Church, along with being member of the Young at Heart Club. Edna enjoyed crafting and bowling in her younger years. Beloved wife of 59 years to the late Peter Grudzinski, Sr. Loving mother of Alice Grudzinski, Laura Cohen (Mark), the late Peter Grudzinski, Jr. (Janet) and the late Diane Grudzinski. Cherished grandmother of Emily, Rachel, Brian and Chrissy Battle (Mason). A funeral Mass was held at St. Martin of Tours RC Church. Interment followed at The Cemetery of the Holy Rood, Westbury. Edna will always be remembered and adored for her loving and extremely sweet personality. She will be truly missed by all. Arrangements entrusted to Arthur F. White Funeral Home, Inc.
