The North Middle School Math Team completed another successful season in the New York Mathematics League. This year, the eighth-grade team earned first place on Long Island, and the seventh-grade team finished in second place on Long Island and fifth place in New York State.
In addition to the teams’ overall scores, several students received honors for their individual performance in the Math League contest. Eighth graders Aiden Jin, Noah Yousefzadeh, and Angelina Zhang earned first, second, and fourth place on Long Island, respectively. Among the seventh-grade participants, Gavin Chen earned first place on Long Island and second place in New York State, and Ethan Yu came in fourth place on Long Island.
The faculty advisor for the North Middle Math Team is Dr. Zachary Boyt, math teacher/department chair.
