North High School’s Junior Players will present Allyssa Hynes’ play, Poe: Dreams of Madness, based on the gothic short stories of Edgar Allan Poe. The production has been filmed and will be presented as a virtual movie premiere on Saturday, Feb. 27 at 8 p.m., with an online pre-show get-together at 7:30 p.m.
This play features five of Poe’s best-known works, including “The Cask of Amontillado,” “The Raven,” and “The Tell-Tale Heart.” In order to meet health and safety guidelines, Junior Players delved into a completely new way of putting on a show this school year. Student performances were recorded, edited together, and formatted for an online audience.
Poe: Dreams of Madness will be presented online free of charge. A link to the virtual movie premier will be provided the week of Feb. 22, along with additional details for viewing. After the premiere, the link will be provided to those who would like to view it at their own convenience. Donations to the North High Junior Players will be accepted.
