Paintbar_100715Combining painting instruction with a wine bar, Muse Paintbar will open its doors on Thursday, Oct. 8, at the company’s first Long Island location at 34 Middle Neck Rd. in Great Neck Plaza. A relaxing oasis for artists and non-artists of all ages and skill levels, Muse Paintbar is a place for friends to learn, laugh, relax and celebrate life’s milestones with skilled painting instructors in a warm and inviting space.

Muse is managed by Stan Finch, president and cofounder, and Vanessa Leigh, cofounder and lead artist, and run in cooperation with local artists from the Long Island area. “Muse allows us to share our passion and create art in a fun, relaxed atmosphere,” said Leigh.
“Art can be intimidating, but we break down barriers by providing simple directions that allow people to gain confidence. By the end of the session, they’ve had fun and can take home an original work of art.”

Muse Paintbar is ideal for after-work relaxation, a girls’ night out, a birthday or bachelorette party, corporate team building or even a first date. Couple’s paintings, where artists will guide a participant and their special someone through a joint painting and they will take home two canvases to hang side-by-side, also make Muse the perfect spot to celebrate a recent anniversary or a romantic date night. Family art sessions are also offered two or three times a month and feature a painting that the whole family can participate in.

To participate, guests simply visit www.musepaintbar.com, click on Great Neck’s page and scroll through the online calendar to view each evening’s one or two different paintings and register online. Classes average $35 per person, but prices may vary for weekend sessions, fundraisers, special events or special sessions. The company donates five percent of profits to local causes and partners with local suppliers.

After sign up, guests just need to show up for fun. Muse Paintbar provides the instructors, acrylic paints, a series of brushes, a canvas and an apron. Participants needn’t possess any artistic background or skill, as instructors guide them stroke by stroke from blank canvas to completed masterpiece, which will be ready to display or gift. While painting, guests can choose from a great selection of food, wine and beer.

In addition to Great Neck, studios in Garden City, Port Jefferson, Port Washington and Tribeca are planned for later this fall.

Muse Paintbar is open to the public and to private parties on a space-available basis. Reservations are suggested as sessions sell out quickly. Muse also offers gift certificates, private instruction and private party paintings geared toward the company or guest of honor.
