Massapequa Man Arrested For Murder Of North High Special Ed Professional

Ryan D. Lindquist, 21, of Massapequa, was arrested in connection with the fatal stabbing of a Merrick man that occurred nearly two weeks ago.

Evan Grabelsky, a special education paraprofessional at Great Neck North High School for nearly four years, was found dead at his Merrick home on Saturday, June 1, at 11:44 p.m., according to the Nassau County Police Department Homicide Squad.

Detectives report that police responded to an aided call for a stabbing victim found inside an Elliot Street home. Upon arrival, it was determined that 32-year-old Grabelsky was not breathing. A police medic later pronounced him deceased at the scene.

Grabelsky also worked at Camp Iconic in Bellmore for three years, most recently as camp director, according to his LinkedIn profile.

Lindquist will be arraigned on Saturday, June 15, at First District Court in Hempstead.
