Board Meeting at Station

Author, Great Neck alum and Tufts University professor Julie Dobrow will speak about her book, After Emily: Two Remarkable Women and the Legacy of America’s Greatest Poet, the untold story of the extraordinary mother and daughter who brought Emily Dickinson’s genius to light, at 2 p.m. in Main’s community room.

Movie Matinée at Main

The film, based on the true story of Forrest Tucker’s escape from San Quentin at age 70, will be shown at 2 p.m.

The Writer Within at Main

New writers, professionals and everyone in between can access their authentic voice and explore the power of imagination, self-expression and storytelling when author Lynda Aron facilitates this writing workshop from 1 to 3 p.m. in Main’s large multipurpose room.

Library Director Search Committee

Two seats on the Director Search Committee are available for members of the public interested in helping find a new library director. Prospective Candidates Search

For the 2019 Great Neck Library election on Oct. 28, prospective candidates are being sought for two seats expiring in January 2020—one on the Board of Trustees to fill Scott Sontag’s seat and one on the Nominating Committee to fill Patrick McDonnell’s seat. A nominee must be a member of the Great Neck Library Association by Oct. 7, 2019, at least 18 years old, a resident of the Great Neck School District and either be a valid library card holder or registered voter with the Nassau County Board of Elections.
