Levels, the teen center in the Great Neck Library, will present the hilarious comedy, The 39 Steps, on Thursday, June 30, Friday July 1, and Saturday July 2 at 8:00 p.m.
Space is limited, so please visit our website at greatnecklibrary.org/levels-is, to find out how you can attend the show.
Take Alfred Hitchcock’s classic suspense film, add a dash of Monty Python, some lightning-fast costume changes and a gallon or two of silliness, and you’ll have Patrick Barlow’s Tony, Drama Desk and Olivier between award winning play The 39 Steps! It’s packed with nonstop laughs, over 150 characters (all of them played by four ridiculously talented actors), an onstage plane crash, handcuffs, missing fingers and some good old-fashioned romance.
The 39 Steps is directed by Adi Elkarat, who recently directed Levels’ very funny productions of Arsenic & Old Lace and Noises Off. The very busy four-person cast consists of Gal Elkarat, Anna Goldman, Clara Goldman and Adam Schiff. The producer is Sara Rafaeil, with costumes and props designed by Nina Zar.
This show is a Levels “Next Stage” Production, created by advanced students who are using Levels as a co-producer, consultant and venue. Levels, the Library’s cultural center for teenagers established in 1974, presents several fully-staged theatrical productions a year, giving teens the opportunity to learn leadership and responsibility through the arts. Levels productions are directed, produced and performed by students in seventh grade through college under the guidance of Levels’ staff of accomplished adult artists.
