Rice and Webber’s operetta Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat will be presented at North Middle School on Thursday, March 17, and Friday, March 18, at 7:30 p.m. in the school’s auditorium at 77 Polo Rd. In the event of snow, a makeup performance is scheduled for Saturday, March 19, at 7:30 p.m.
Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat is based on the story of the coat of many colors from the Bible’s Book of Genesis. Joseph, the favorite son of Jacob, has dreams that foretell the future. After he is sold into slavery by his jealous brothers, Joseph endures many hardships. When news of Joseph’s ability to interpret dreams reaches the Pharaoh, he’s released from jail and earns a second-in-command position. Ultimately, Joseph and his brothers are reconciled and he is united with his father.
