The Great Neck Park District Synchronized Skating Teams, the Icettes, the Icicles and the Ice Gems, performed at the 32nd Annual Colonial Classic, a Synchronized Skating Team competition, on Friday, Jan. 8, through Sunday, Jan. 10, in Lowell, Massachusetts, which was a great accomplishment for these skaters.
Coach Carole Liotti was so proud, stating, “This was the first year our skaters participated in this special competition. I witnessed great teamwork and sportsmanship among the skaters.”
Coaches Erica Beggs and Audra Smith agreed that the teams skated to their best of their ability, which is exactly what they were shooting for. Everyone who participated learned that it is not always about winning; more importantly, it’s about being proud of the team you’re representing, persevering and working together to perform your best.
