Current programming on GNPS/TV includes Focus on Education: An Interview with Dr. Teresa Prendergast, Great Neck’s new superintendent of schools, and Spotlight: South Middle School.
Focus on Education is an ongoing series hosted by the superintendent highlighting what’s new and interesting in the district. This edition of Focus, the last done by former Superintendent Thomas Dolan, was filmed just before he retired in July. He interviews Great Neck’s new superintendent, Dr. Teresa Prendergast.
Prior to coming to Great Neck, Dr. Prendergast was assistant superintendent for curriculum and instruction for the Garden City Public Schools. She has been an educator since 1987, with a varied career as assistant superintendent, principal, assistant principal, dean and teacher.
Showtimes for Focus on Education are 10 a.m. and 1, 4, 7 and 10 p.m.
Spotlight features school news, sports and events in a lively, magazine-format. This edition focuses on South Middle School with a compilation of news stories filmed by South Middle students and staff throughout the year. Many of the pieces were previously shown on HTV, South Middle’s live, closed-circuit Homeroom TV, which presents news to students, faculty and staff. Spotlight: South Middle is hosted by HTV’s student crew and staff.
Spotlight will air at 11 a.m., and at 2, 5 and 8 p.m.
GNPS/TV programming reflects the offerings of the Great Neck Public Schools and the achievements of its students and staff. Programs are student-produced and can be seen in the incorporated villages of Great Neck on Cablevision Channel 75 and on Verizon Channel 32.
