Faculty Recital

The musical talents of district faculty and friends came together in October in a chamber-like setting in South High School’s music room for the 23rd Annual Faculty Recital. Nearly 40 outstanding vocal and instrumental musicians performed works from the classical to the contemporary, as well as original pieces written by faculty.
GNPS/TV Spotlight
10 a.m., 3 and 8 p.m.
GNPS/TV Spotlight features school news, sports and events in a lively magazine format. This edition focuses on Dancing Classrooms at South Middle School, Giraffic Park: An Interactive Pre-K–12 Literacy Event, the inaugural Student Art Exhibit at the newly opened Metropolitan Commercial Bank, Kennedy School’s tribute to former Principal Dr. Sue Kincaid, South Middle School’s Veterans Day Program with visiting vets, highlights from the North Middle Winter Concert and more.
South High Winter Concert II
11 a.m., 4 and 9 p.m.
South High School’s Winter Concert II featured the Symphonic Band, Symphony Orchestra, Chamber Choir and Mixed Choir. The concert was under the direction of Michael Schwartz, performing arts department head/instrumental teacher, and Dr. Pamela Levy, vocal music teacher.
Focus on Education
12:30, 5:30 and 10:30 p.m.
Focus on Education is an ongoing series, hosted by Superintendent of Schools Teresa Prendergast, highlighting what’s new and interesting in the district. This edition features the recently hired middle school Assistant Principals Jennifer Anderson and Nancy Gunning at North Middle School and Brian McConaghy at South Middle School.
