Districts were assessed in three teacher-support areas: class size (student/teacher ratio), administrator and support staff availability to teachers (teacher/support staff ratio) and student proficiency levels on state examinations (combined Reading Language Arts and Math student percent proficiency). School district data was obtained from the National Center for Education Statistics Common Core of Data, 2013–14, and the U.S. Department of Education EdFacts Data Files, 2012–13.
GNPS was ranked 32nd among 383 school districts in the state. Out of a possible score of 100, Great Neck received 72.6, the average of the scores in each of the three teacher-support areas. Jericho School District, which ranked first in the state, received a score of 86.8.
