Great Neck Public Schools will close for Lunar New Year, making us the first district on Long Island to recognize this important holiday for the Asian community.
Great Neck Public Schools Board of Education President Barbara Berkowitz will be making an announcement at the upcoming Board of Education meeting on Monday, March 14, proclaiming that going forward, the celebration will be an official school holiday.
The Board meeting will be held in the North High School auditorium, 35 Polo Road, at about 8:15 p.m., following a special recognition of students that begins at 7:30 p.m.
