GCAC Offers Creative Summer Arts Camp

GCACSummer_Feb.AAs the school year comes to an end, children are looking forward to a summer filled with fun activities. The Gold Coast Arts Center’s (GCAC) Summer Arts Camp offers creative experiences to children of all ages with activities like cartooning, chess camp, music, 3D arts, as well as specialty camps taught by top artists and performers.

A wide array of engaging and stimulating programs await campers this July and August on weekdays from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Children can attend one- or two-week programs, which each culminate in a performance, competition or exhibit for parents and friends to enjoy—and they can sign up for as many sessions as they wish. Plus, kosher and nut-free lunch and snack options are included.

GCACSummer_Feb.BIn the brand new Crafts Camp, from July 5 to 8, children can make creations beyond their wildest dreams.

At Musical Theatre Camp, from July 11 to 22, they’ll explore and create their own renditions of contemporary and theatrical hits with daily classes in voice, basic music and dance to help them experience the thrill of performing on stage.

GCACSummerLWith Acting for Film, from July 25 to 29, kids can learn acting techniques for theater and
movies by starring in scenes that are recorded, which they can take home on DVD.

GCACSummer_Feb.FDrawing & Painting, from Aug. 1 to 5, will allow them to have fun with art using inspiration from nature and the world around them.

GCACSummerIThrough Music, from Aug. 8 to 12, children of all levels are welcome to experience guitar, keyboard percussion and vocal training.

At 3-Dimensional Art, from Aug. 15 to 19, kids work with wood, papier–mâché and wire.

From Aug. 22 to 26, Chess Camp will be offered.

GCACSummer_Feb.GChildren can imagine characters and explore their creativity through drawing in Cartooning from Aug. 22 to 26.

GCACSummerMCampers can also choose any two weeks of the six offered in Ceramics Camp, from July 5 to Aug. 12, where they’ll learn hand-building, sculpture and innovative glazing techniques.

GCACSummerKA Half-Day Junior Camp is available for younger children from pre-K through sixth grade, where daily activities include art, dance, music and more.
