Foxes around Great Neck, specifically in Kings Point Park, have been diagnosed with scabies and mange. The foxes have been entering private yards near and around Kings Point and Great Neck—dogs have been susceptible, and humans, especially those who walk park trails, have also been exposed. Great Neck Animal Hospital is aware of the problem and I will soon contact the Great Neck Parks District because they have no warnings posted on any public park. Nor has there been any official notices sent to residents. This epidemic is spreading.
