For thousands of Long Islanders, enduring the winter without a warm coat to protect them from the chilling cold is a real challenge. So, Metropolitan Commercial Bank is collecting slightly used and new coats at its Great Neck banking center, and has partnered with Long Island Cares to have the coats distributed to those in need throughout Long Island.
“It is especially gratifying during this holiday season to be able to help provide warmth and the hope that these coats represent to so many families in and around our communities,” said Laura Capra, senior vice president and head of Retail Banking. “We asked our employees to help us jump-start our coat drive. Their response has been overwhelming; just another example of how our employees rally together to help make a difference for those less fortunate.”
The community is invited to donate gently used or new coats for children and adults during regular business hours at the bank’s Great Neck location at 111 Great Neck Rd. through Dec. 31.
