Adventures In Learning Fundraiser

AdventuresLearning_111815.AAdventures in Learning’s board of directors are holding its Annual Fundraising Drive. Located in Manhasset at the Hagedorn Community Center at the Manhasset/Great Neck EOC Building on High Street, Adventures provides after-school educational programs in a safe, supervised environment for the underserved student population in our community. This includes tutoring, reading and math, computer instruction, art and music enrichment programs, Scouting and more. For many students, English is not their first language.

These students attend both Great Neck and Manhasset School districts. Approximately 75 percent of Adventures’ children graduate from high school and about 90 percent of these graduates go on to college. These are impressive academic results, yet, despite these achievements, Adventures operates on a tight budget and faces deficit funding. While 65 students are enrolled, 20 local children are on the waiting list.

Adventures needs assistance so that these 20 students can be given academic support. With your help, this will be a win-win for one and all, since this is an investment in our children’s future and our communities. Your support will make a huge difference in a young person’s life, providing immense growth and opportunity for his or her years ahead.
