Village School Student Recognition

Village School (VS) students were recently recognized by the Great Neck Public Schools Board of Education for contributing to the quality of life at their high school. VS award recipients (with their area of achievement in parentheses) are (from left, seated): Benjamin Varughese (academic achievement), Sam Director (quintessential student), Angela Chang (most improved), Emma Strassberg (rookie of the year) and Sabrina Geffner (community service). Joining them are (standing): VS Teachers Tobias Hatten and Cindy Pavlic, Superintendent Teresa Prendergast, VS Teacher Samuel Yellis, Board of Education President Barbara Berkowitz, Board Vice President Lawrence Gross, Board Trustee Monique Bloom, Assistant Superintendent–Secondary Stephen Lando, Board Trustee Donald Ashkenase, VS Teachers Jeffrey Bernstein and Ronni Graf, VS Principal Stephen Goldberg and VS Teacher Lauren Sullivan. Board Trustee Susan Healy was unable to attend.
