North Shore Hebrew Academy (NSHA) Middle and High Schools students from grades 6 to 12, along with their families and NSHA faculty, participated as marchers in the 2017 Celebrate Israel Parade on Sunday, June 4.

In keeping with this year’s parade theme, Celebrate Israel All Together, NSHA chose the motto A Community of Unity. The school’s banner and T-shirts, which were created by NSHA faculty, highlighted the many communities and countries that Jews come from. The school found this theme to be particularly meaningful as these communities are also represented in the NSHA student and family population.

“It is a beloved tradition for NSHA to march in the parade and we were proud to join the thousands of people who lined and marched up Fifth Avenue to celebrate the State of Israel,” said Abigail Zausmer Weiss, NSHA director of institutional development.
